It’s rare! That’s my first impression when my friend introduced me to The Hill Relaxing Camp. A short drive from Georgetown Penang to this amazing campsite located on a hill near to Balik Pulau. What makes it so special is the view, there is nothing blocking the beautiful view in front of the campsite, if you’re lucky you’ll be able to catch the sunrise as well. The weather is really chilly up there and we were always welcomed by the cool breeze even in the afternoon, so we don’t feel hot at all. Facilities such as toilet and shower room, washing area is also available. If you don’t have a tent, no worries! They provide tent rental services as well with really affordable price.
What we like about The Hill Relaxing Camp?
Its always cool and breezy
Although the campsite elevation wasn’t really high (280m), the temperature is just nice due to its constant breeze.
It has one of the most beautiful view
You’ll be able to see flights taking off and landing from afar, with Penang’s 2nd bridge in the background
The campsite is not really packed
There were only 2 other small groups around during the time we camped, although the campsite is always fully booked. Tents are well spaced out and you’ll have plenty of space around you.
Provides tent rental, and affordable too
If you’re feeling lazy and just want to have a full relaxing trip, they provide tent rental with affordable pricing as well
Its clean and well-maintained
Campsite is clean with no rubbish around. Trash bin is provided, facilities are well maintained, please keep it this way.
Things that you might be concerned
No Hot shower
The place can get cold at night so it could be a plus if there’s hot shower
There are dogs around
There are multiple dogs around but don’t worry, they are really friendly
Mosquitoes
There are mosquitoes around but not a lot, will be helpful to bring your mosquito repellent as well
4G coverage is weak (for some telcos)
The signal here wasn’t really stable, we’ve tested with Digi, Maxis and Umobile, Digi is usable but will experience constant line drop, Maxis was the most stable among the 3, Umobile is almost unusable.
