Pasir Tengkorak Beach

The campsite

Pantai Pasir Tengkorak has a large campsite, large enough to accommodate big groups up to 50 people (just an estimation), the area is fenced and well maintained by Malaysian standards. We’ve been here a few times in the past few years and rarely see people do camping.

During our trip, the place is really quiet and peaceful, fortunately the weather is good as well and we have some night breeze thus it wasn’t hot at all, perfect for a campfire night.

There are no facilities at night, the bathrooms are all locked so be prepared if you decide to camp here, but don’t worry, the nearest petrol station is just less than 20 minutes away.

The beach

One of the cleanest in Langkawi, but not the safest. There are some reported drowning cases here so never stray too far from the coast. Pantai Pasir Tengkorak literally means skulls beach, the name came from one of the local legend that has been passed down through generations. You can read more about the story here.
